Anubias barteri var. nana is an attractive plant and grows under any conditions. It grows slowly and its leaves live for many years, enabling the algae to establish itself on it. It can also be tied onto a stone or root-wood.
If planted in the substrate, the rootstock should not be covered because it can rot. It often produces flowers in the aquarium.
