How can I calculate how much substrate I need?
Measure the length of your aquarium and the width in centimetres, for example. 90 x 60 cm.
Think about how thick a layer of soil you want, for example. 8 cm.
With a sloping flat bottom, which is higher at the back of the aquarium, you can achieve a good visual effect.
Then we have length x width x thickness divided by 1000.
Here: 90 x 60 x 8/1000 = 43,2 L of substrate.
