It acquires a brown colour on the leaves with a distinctive burgundy colour underneath. It grows many horizontal shoots that should have their tops pruned to maintain its compact form and to encourage further growth. These shoots are easily caught on stones or sticks. Its growth is moderate and its colour is attractive when planted in small groups. Bright lighting ensures a relatively good growth rate which by definition is slow to moderate.
