Although Bucephalandras are from Asia and Anubias from Africa, they have much in common, including the way they are grown.
Bucephalandra sp. The "needle leaf" has slightly higher requirements than the "devils" and pygmies, but is still a very easy plant to grow. Some addition of CO2 and a little more light is beneficial. The submerged leaves are green, elongated and slightly wavy, displaying many tiny, white dots. Each leaf is less than 0.5 cm wide and between 1 and 2 cm long. The younger parts of the rhizome show a nice, red colour. Growth is slow.
The rootstock should not be covered when planting, otherwise the plant will rot and die.
