Lobelia cardinalis potted

Lobelia cardinalis grows in North America.This plant is cultivated in marshy conditions, forming dark green leaves that are purple at the bottom of the leaf. In aquariums the leaves have stems 10-30 cm high and 5-10 cm wide. It needs intensive light to grow. It is widely used in Dutch aquariums. In open aquariums it grows above the water surface, where it forms very pretty red flowers and the leaves regain their colour. It can also be used in garden ponds.
