Echinodorus "Barthii" is a decorative and beautiful plant for large aquariums. It grows 25-50 cm in height and with the whole leaves 20-30 cm wide. The leaves change colour from dark red on the young leaves to dark green on the older ones. The colour develops well when the light intensity is high and there are sufficient nutrients in the aquarium. A nutritious substrate and CO2 helps growth. This plant gets a lot of light from the plants below, so it must be pruned occasionally.
