This beautiful variant of Cryptocoryne nurii was found growing in the wild in Malaysia around 1970. In the aquarium hobby it became popular under the name "Rose Maiden".
The plant grows as easily as Cryptocoryne wendtii and has the same size and leaf shape. Given time, it will produce runners under the understory, often appearing quite far from the parent plant.
The intensity of the colour and patterns on the leaves depends on light and nutrition.
