The Red Cherry Shrimp Neocaridina is one of the hardiest shrimp species and reproduces at a rapid rate, making it a preferred choice for beginners in the hobby. It originates from Asia and is one of the smallest shrimp species, with males, which are smaller than females, reaching a length of about 2.5 centimeters. They can thrive in almost any freshwater aquarium as long as the water quality is good, and predators are absent. This specific shrimp is a result of breeding the wild Neocaridina Heteropoda, which doesn't have the vibrant coloration. The females, besides being larger than males, also have darker colors and a more rounded abdomen.
