Maintenance
I will appreciate the cover in the form of rocks, roots and wood. Plants can also be used, but also ensure that there is plenty of bathing space. As with most large fish, decent filtration is required to ensure that water quality is maintained at optimal levels. Reduced lighting will encourage the fish to come out

Temperature: (21 - 25°C) - although it can be found in warmer waters in the wild.

pH: 6.0 - 7.0

Hardness: Up to 20° H

Nutrition
An omnivorous detrivore. Wild fish consume whatever edibles they find as they sift through the substrate, although much of the diet consists of benthic crustaceans and the larvae of various insects. It will accept most aquarium foods. Make sure that plant matter and live or frozen foods are a regular part of the diet.

Behaviour and compatibility
Gentle giant. Keep with other large peaceful species such as other large catfish, arowana and large fish such as pacu and silver dollars. Can eat fish small enough to fit in its mouth.
