Ancistrus albino 3-4cm

Ancistrus dolichopterus come from the Rio Negro, a river with "black water", with very fine sand and lots of wood lying on the bottom of the river.The name Ancistrus comes from the Greek word Agistron, meaning hook, and refers to the interopercular odontodes, the side fins that are like hooks.
The special adjective (dolichopterus) refers to its long (dolichos = long) wings (pteron = wings)
