Myriophyllum matogrossense is native to Mato Grosso in the Rio Amazonas of Brazil. It has ornamental and feathery, reddish stems (30-60 cm long) and thinly divided bright green leaves (5 cm wide).
In well-lit conditions the leaves spread out in a fan shape. Myriophyllum is relatively easy and is suitable for a background. It needs frequent pruning to maintain its bushy form. It grows quickly and requires a good deal of feeding.
A good starter plant.
