It is a very beautiful plant with thin branching light green leaves. With the right conditions and the addition of CO2 and nutrient substrate it grows very fast. With good lighting it develops side shoots taking the form of a shrub. It is most attractive when planted in small groups. In aquariums without a lid it sometimes sends shoots above the water surface that bloom with small blue flowers.
